A native of Ft. Lauderdale, Melissa Hill graduated cum laude from Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English/Writing. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate (JD) degree at the University of Miami School of Law. After law school, Melissa began her career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. She spent 13 years with the office representing the people of Hillsborough County and served four of those years as a Deputy Division Chief in the Felony Bureau. During her time as a veteran prosecutor, Melissa tried over 100 jury and bench trials, including complex homicides, traffic homicides, drug trafficking cases, and various other violent felony cases.
