CHIROPRACTIC MANIPULATION CAN BE DETRIMENTAL

The cervical spine and neck region of the body is the most common area that chiropractors treat. Proper adjustments and procedures can cure neck, upper back, lower back, shoulder, arm, and head pains. Chiropractic procedures can also improve mobility and restore function to places that may be locked. However, improper or forced adjustments can be extremely dangerous. Chiropractic manipulation may leave a patient in a detrimental state for the rest of his/her life.

The Story of a Victim of Chiropractic Manipulation

In one case, a 62-year-old patient visited the chiropractor to relieve a pinched nerve in his back. However, the chiropractor manipulated his body during the adjustment and forcefully applied pressure. This manipulation tore a vertebral artery on the left side of his body, causing the patient to suffer a stroke. The victim was flown to a clinic where he was underwent treatment for six days and was then admitted to a rehabilitation center for an additional six days.

Although he went through treatments, the patient still suffers a number of negative effects, such as slight choking, staggered walking, and a change in speech. The wife claims that some of these effects are getting better, but that he will suffer permanent damage from chiropractic manipulation. For now, the man uses a walker.
